Choose three entries, prioritize them in order of importance in the "Notes" section, with the two most important listed first.

All participants must be current YMCA members.

Swim-In-Zone participants: Facility fee is already included in November's payment.

Non Swim-In-Zone participants: $5 facility fee (we're renting space at Swim-In-Zone).

Event order will be set after all entries are in, so we can set up the meet to run in an efficient and smooth manner by combining events. Events may be on either 11/21 and/or 11/22.

If a swimmer qualifies, it is expected they will attend. Coaches will determine who swims on the qualifying relay. 

Deadline: 2/23, 8:00 pm, but sign-up NOW if possible. We need time to figure out relay options and for coaches to review swimmer choices to ensure we are maximizing our potential State attendees.

Volunteers: Each team is responsible for providing at least two (2) timers per session. Each team will also be required to provide at least one (1) seeding volunteer with a maximum of two (2) for the 10 & under sessions. Contact Kevin Rizzardi to volunteer; he'll organize and forward info to the District meet coordinator.

 NO qualifying times required, only attendance at two dual meets are. EVERYONE is expected to swim at this meet (if at all possible). 

Winterfest is a 3-day, invitational meet hosted by SPY and held each January at the Eppley Recreation Center at the University of Maryland, College Park. The meet was held for the first time in 2000. By 2013, SPY was hosting more than 1700 swimmers from 46 different teams, hailing from Maine to Florida and as far away as Illinois.

On Saturday and Sunday, there are preliminary and final events, with finals being held each evening. In a competition like Winterfest, the coaches' motto is "night time is the right time"- and Winterfest provides top swimmers the opportunity for a "Swim off" battle with competitors of equal caliber.

Winterfest is one of the largest YMCA age-group meets in the country and is both a USA- approved meet and a YMCA-Sanctioned Championship meet. Winterfest has developed a reputation as a fun, fast, competitive, professional event held in a world-class setting. For our younger NEYS swimmers, it gives them a chance to participate in an elite competition with some of the country's top swimmers in their age bracket- an opportunity that they wouldn't otherwise get. Winterfest also provides athletes with experience in a "fast" pool with a high level of competition, allowing swimmers a good opportunity to make important cuts before championship season.
