Good afternoon Blue Fins,

The 1st invitational everyone is eligible to compete in is the Boyertown Boo. This is our team's traditional kickoff meet for the season. We always have a strong presence at this meet, and we'd like to continue that tradition. It's a nice meet, good pool, plenty of space in the gym for team seating, good amount of spectator seating in the stands, good competition from around PA, not too far away, with a fun Halloween theme. :)

• Entry Deadline: Wednesday, Oct. 8, 10:30 pm
• Meet Date: Oct. 25 & 26 (depends upon your age group)
• Location: Boyertown YMCA, 301 Spring Street, Boyertown PA 19512
• Swimmer Surcharge: $8/athlete   (spectators are free admission)
• Event Fees: $7/Event
• Meet Info Packet is attached.
• Exact Arrival/Warm-Up times: Will be sent a few days prior, but you can get an idea by looking at the info packet.
• Sign-in to your Swimtopia account, click on the meet in the "Schedule", click "edit" under the swimmer name, choose your session and events.

ENTRIES

• I needed to update the entry file, so if you already entered please double check that I didn't make any mistakes transferring existing entries.
• Some swimmers did not choose their events, but they should. So please go back in to choose.
• NEW entries should definitely choose your own individual events too.
• Unless you state otherwise in the "notes section", I will assume you are OK with being on a relay. Unlike at champs, you must pay for relays at this meet. 

MEET FEES: Once you sign up for the meet and we send the entries, your YMCA account will be charged shortly thereafter. There are no refunds for invitationals even if you cannot make it. The host YMCA charges our YMCA based upon # of entries, and we cannot get refunds from the other YMCAs. Plus, they create a timeline of events and close down accepting additional entries afterwards. As a result, they will not refund anyone to avoid non-committed athletes from taking spots from others. It's similar to purchasing a movie ticket; the ticket reserves you a seat in the theater whether a person watches the movie or not. Likewise, the swim meet entry fee reserves a lane in an event for a swimmer whether they actually swim or not.

DUAL MEETS are DIFFERENT; EVERYONE can compete at no extra charge. Please know though, we only have four dual meets. As a result, swimmers looking to ensure they compete in specific events should definitely sign up for 1-2 invitationals as the dual meet line-ups are created by the coaches with team goals in mind, and individual requests often cannot be incorporated. Invitationals give swimmers the chance to choose any event they want.
