Good evening Blue Fins,

We are looking for anyone who is interested in getting trained to be an official for swim meets. If you have swimming experience yourself, please definitely consider. However, it is NOT required. Many officials have never swam competitively themselves and do very well.

First time officials take the class, then shadow someone, and even after that, they are always teamed up with more experienced officials at every meet. In other words, it will never be just one person making a call. Plus, at our swim meets whenever there is a tough call, it really isn't, because I'm always there to help. :) The referee, you, and I just talk it through, and no one is ever put on the spot for a tough call. So, no need to worry, just sign up. :)

Fulfilling this role fulfills your meet/job requirement for NEYS. Plus, you get in for free at any invitational or championship meet you work, with front row viewing on deck too.
