Hello all,

Before purchasing a tech suit for your swimmer, especially 12/Under swimmers, please refer to the attached USA Swimming memos and my thoughts below.

USA & YMCA national organizations prohibit swimmers ages 12 & under from competing in "tech" suits. However, suit producers sometimes use the word "tech suit" in their marketing and may utilize their own criteria for what they consider a tech suit to be. So, the question is, which suits are really tech suits, which are not, and which are approved for 12/Under swimmers.

In general, approved 12/U "tech suits" will have a green check mark on them. If in doubt, I have also attached an approved list of 12/U "tech suits" if there is no green check mark though.
