    Introduction

Hello Blue Fins Families and welcome to your 2024-25 swim season.

My name is Kevin Rizzardi and I support the team as parent liaison and officials coordinator. I am also a level II official (referee) and a member of the Penn-Del swim board. I am here to help out new parents who might have a question and are unsure where to go. I also keep track of our certified officials roster and solicit volunteers who might be interested in getting certified as Penn-Del YMCA swim officials. The best way to reach me is by email at [email protected].

There are also a couple of support members who will most likely be sending out an introduction and who you can expect to see emails from as well as some roles that the team will be looking to staff for this season.

    • Volunteer Coordinator - Greg Nungester - Keeps track of all volunteers for the season and tracks work bond obligations. Greg will be the point of contact for all volunteers at meets and he will also be your point of contact if you have any questions about volunteering.
    • Hospitality Coordinator - Lorraine Johnson - Coordinates the food and drink items that we sell during our home dual meets and manages the concession stand and volunteers at those meets.

There are a couple of roles that are currently open. If you are interested in any of these please reach out to Coach Drake to express your interest.

    • Lead Marshaller - Responsible for organizing the marshalls at every meet to ensure that our younger swimmers are getting where they need to be during the event.
    • Social Coordinator - Responsible for planning various events such as holiday social, end of season banquet, district dinner, etc. This person will work with Coach Drake on dates and details and then solicit volunteers to support those events.
    • Brag Tag Assembler - Responsible for putting together the brag tags (recognition program) after Coach Drake sends out the final meet results.

There are also a number of jobs that will need volunteers for during the actual meets. Rather than list them here I encourage you to read the Swim Parents Survival Guide that is on our team site https://neys.swimtopia.com/swim-meet-101. This guide will not only answer some of the questions you might have, it will also provide brief descriptions of each volunteer role that is needed during a meet.

Wishing you and your swimmers a safe and successful swim season!

    Thank you,

    Kevin
