District Results, 2024
Good evening Bluefins!
We attended the PA YMCA East District Championship this past weekend, and had a good showing. :)
I'll send info about our Spring Clinics and summer swim team options later this week.
What do your swimmers do while you sit uncomfortably on bleachers for hours between races? See here :)

How do you know if you qualified for States?
Unofficial State Qualifiers - see attached doc.
Swimmers on the attached unofficial list (both qualifiers and possible qualifiers) should continue with practice on Tuesday at their regular post season practice time.
The State will release the official list by this Wednesday (usually), and I'll send it to you as soon as I receive it. You don't need to wait for that though to get a good idea though.
Who qualifies for the State Championships?
The top 6 finishers at Districts in each individual event, a total of 18 swimmers across all three Districts (East, Central, West). Then the next top 6 fastest times across all three districts are invited, for a total of 24 swimmers per event go on to compete at the Pennsylvania YMCA State Championship (prelims/finals format). However, some swimmers or relays scratch themselves out of contention and choose not to attend. Therefore, even if you placed above 6th, you may still have a chance to attend States. Using SwimCloud.com and/or Meet Mobile can help you get a good idea if you're in.
For relays, it is similar, but it is top 4 from each District, and then next top 4 fastest time (total of 16). For 11/12s (500 Free), and 13/14, 15-21 (1000/1650 Free), it is top 2 and then next top two fastest (total of 8).
Also, please review the attached East District scratch sheet. It is NOT the most updated one, but if your swimmer is in the top 15 for ages 14/under, and top 30 for age 15-21, and should be scratched, please let me know ASAP.
See you on deck,
Coach Drake
