Madison Championship Volunteers
Hello Blue Fins,
As Coach Drake has communicated we are hosting champs this year which is a great honor for us, but also a lot of responsibility. This is where all of our wonderful swim families come in and get to show how the Blue Fins support our swimmers. You will be hearing more from Coach Drake about the specifics around signing swimmers up for events and any details. My role for our championship meet is as the meet director and I am responsible for the planning and organization of all the necessary details. This communication is to share the details about the volunteers that we will need to support this event.
There is a signup genius where all teams will have volunteers sign up for timing and officials. It is a Penn Del league requirement that each team provide a minimum of three (3) timers and one (1) certified official for each of the three sessions. Any volunteers for these roles above the minimum requirement are absolutely welcome.
For anyone who is a certified official you will be asked to officiate over timing so please DO NOT sign up to time if you are an official. We will also need officials who are able to work sessions outside of what their swimmers might be swimming so please consider signing up for anything where you are available.

In addition to timers and officials there are volunteer positions that we will need to staff as the hosting team. Those positions will be posted under the schedules tab by going to the Madison Division Championship and selecting the green JOB SIGNUP box. You will see that there are many volunteer positions that are available across the three sessions. If you haven't had a chance to volunteer yet, now is a great opportunity. If you have already volunteered this season, now is a great time to exceed expectations. The stands get pretty crowded and you will have a perfect opportunity to see the meet from some of the best viewing positions on deck.
For concession stand donations we are trying something a little different to make it easier for everyone. We have an Amazon gift list where you can select and purchase items that you would like to donate to be sold at the concession stand and they will be delivered directly to our Hospitality Coordinator, Lorraine Johnson. This will help to ensure that we have everything available at the start of our first session. Our goal is to bring in enough through our concessions to offset the cost of the pool and equipment and to support us for some upcoming expenses. If you are able to donate any of the requested items we would greatly appreciate it. Please make any donation purchases by no later than Monday, January 29th so they have time to arrive before champs.

I want to thank everyone for all you have done to help make this season such a success. Hosting champs is the perfect way to end our regular season and I appreciate everyone who is able to make time to support an event that I am confident will be a great experience for our swimmers and swim families.
