Coordinator Positions
Happy New Year Blue Fins,
We are about to head into our last month of the regular season so I thought it is a perfect time to solicit volunteers for next year. As our team has gotten bigger this year I find that we could use some help in a couple of key areas for next year so I am looking for parents who are interested in taking on any of these roles. If you are interested in any of these roles please let me know and we can discuss next steps.
Volunteer Coordinator - EXEMPT - This individual will be responsible for coordinating and keeping track of volunteers throughout the season. At swim meets this person will be responsible for checking in the volunteers (timers, marshalls, etc.) and keeping track of who has met their volunteer requirements. This person will also keep track of people who volunteer for other events such as holiday parties, end of year banquet, etc. This is an exempt position meaning that the individual who performs this role will have met their volunteer requirements for the season.
Social Coordinator - EXEMPT - This individual will organize and plan for team socials (Team Spirit dinner, Christmas party, End of season party, etc.). They will also be responsible for coordinating the handing out and hanging the spirit flags that get decorated and hung in the hallway before the first meet. This person can also form a social committee to support them in coordinating these events. This is an exempt position meaning that the individual who performs this role will have met their volunteer requirements for the season.
Apparel Coordinator - EXEMPT - This individual will coordinate the ordering of our team shirt at the beginning of the season and they will be responsible for putting together district orders. They will also be responsible for collecting these items from our vendor (A&H) and distributing orders to swim families. This is an exempt position meaning that the individual who performs this role will have met their volunteer requirements for the season.
The team is also always looking for volunteers who are interested in becoming certified officials. If you have an interest in getting your level 1 (stroke & turn) certification please let me know. To get certified you need to take a four hour zoom training and take a certification test. Certification classes will be held starting in late September and typically go through early November.
For those who are still looking to complete volunteer requirements for this season I will be sending out an email in a few days which will list remaining volunteer opportunities.
I hope you have a safe and happy new year!
Thank you,
Kevin
