Hello Bluefins family,

It's good to finally be starting up again at NEYS (Nazareth/Easton YMCA Swimming); we had a good turnout for our first preseason practice last night too.

• Wednesday & Thursday, 9/7 - 9/8: Regular preseason practice groups & times.
• FRIDAY, 9/9: Practice Canceled

This Friday's practice cancelation was not scheduled, but necessary because of a confluence of things:

1. A lifeguard shortage is creating scheduling difficulties for many pools, including the Nazareth YMCA. As a result, there is no lifeguard available for Friday.
2. We haven't finished onboarding our new assistant coaches yet, so we are short this week in being able to a pull a coach to lifeguard.
3. Normally, I can be there to ensure we have two coaches always assigned, one of which can then be assigned as a lifeguard. However, I'm taking my son on a college recruiting trip to Indiana, so will not be available either. 

We may be able to replace this Friday's practice with a Saturday, Sept. 17 practice, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm & 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. However, that is not confirmed yet. As soon as I can, I'll let you know either way.

By the way, I recommend all of our high school swimmers get lifeguard certified. There's always a need for them year-round, and it's better than most part time jobs high school kids can get.
